2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Donations: your name, email address, donation amount, and any optional details you provide, such as phone number, organization name, or a note or prayer request.
  • Contact and inquiries: your name, email, phone number, and the content of your message when you contact us by form, email, or phone.
  • Newsletter: your email address if you sign up to hear from us.
  • Program inquiries: if you or a loved one contact us about our programs, you may choose to share personal or sensitive information, such as details about recovery, health, or family circumstances. We treat this information as confidential (see Section 5).

Information collected automatically

  • Technical data: like most websites, our servers and our security provider (Cloudflare) record information such as your IP address, browser type, device, and pages visited. This helps us keep the Site secure and working.
  • Cookies: small files that keep the Site and donation form working (for example, remembering your session). See Section 7.

3. How we use your information

  • To process your donation and send your receipt.
  • To keep accurate donation records, as required for nonprofit accounting and tax purposes.
  • To respond to your questions, prayer requests, and program inquiries.
  • To send you updates about our work, if you have chosen to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To protect the Site and our donors from fraud, spam, and abuse.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

4. How donations are processed

We use the GiveWP plugin to manage donations on our Site. Depending on how you give, your payment is handled by:

  • Zelle: you send your gift from your own bank’s app. We only see the information your bank shares with us, such as your name and the amount.
  • PayPal: processed by PayPal under its own privacy policy.
  • Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Cash App Pay (when available): processed by Stripe under its own privacy policy. Your full card number is never stored on our Site.

5. Confidentiality of personal and recovery information

We understand that recovery is personal. Any information you share with us about yourself or a loved one’s recovery, health, or circumstances is kept confidential, shared only with staff or volunteers who need it to help you, and never used for fundraising or published without your written permission. We will not identify anyone as a resident or program participant without their consent.

6. When we share information

We share information only as needed to run our ministry:

  • Service providers that help us operate, such as our payment processors, website hosting, email delivery, and security providers. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
  • Legal requirements: if required by law, or to protect the safety of any person.
  • With your permission: for example, if you agree to let us share your story.

If you give anonymously, we will not publicly display your name, but we keep your details privately for our records and receipts.

7. Cookies

Our Site uses essential cookies to function and to process donations securely. Our security provider, Cloudflare, may set cookies to protect the Site from malicious traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the Site, such as the donation form, may not work properly without them.

8. Embedded content from other websites

Pages on this Site may include embedded content, such as videos or social media posts. Embedded content behaves as if you had visited the other website, which may collect data about you under its own privacy policy.

9. How long we keep information

We keep donation records for as long as required for accounting, tax, and legal purposes, generally seven years. We keep other information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or until you ask us to delete it.

10. How we protect your information

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, a security and firewall service, limited access for staff, and trusted payment processors. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

11. Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe: use the link in any email, or contact us.
  • Access, correct, or delete: you may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. We may need to keep certain donation records as required by law.
  • Data export and erasure: you can also request this through the contact details below.

12. Children’s privacy

Our Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Donations must be made by adults 18 or older. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
